If the mic button does nothing or the orb won't react to your voice, the problem is almost always a permission or device issue. Run through this checklist top to bottom.
1. Browser permission
- Click the padlock icon in your browser's address bar.
- Make sure 'Microphone' is set to Allow for jenvu.com.
- Reload the page after changing it.
2. Operating system permission
- macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → enable your browser.
- Windows: Settings → Privacy → Microphone → enable for your browser.
- iOS: Settings → Safari / Chrome → Microphone → Allow.
- Android: Settings → Apps → your browser → Permissions → Microphone → Allow.
3. Other apps holding the mic
Zoom, Google Meet, Discord and Teams sometimes grab exclusive access to the microphone. Close them fully (not just the call) and reload Jenvu.
4. Right input device
On laptops with a headset plugged in, the mic input may default to a device that's muted or unplugged. Switch input in your OS sound settings and reload.
Heads up
Voice input requires HTTPS. Local file previews (file:// URLs) cannot use the microphone — always test on jenvu.com.
